Animals

Hey, I just came across this story on how some scientists discover a new species of bone-eating worms that live on whale carcasses on the sea floor. The female worm grows “roots” into the whale bones, which contain bacteria that help the worm digest fats from the bones. The tiny males live inside the female, sometimes over a hundred inside a single female. Whale falls provide important oases of nourishment on the sea floor, somewhat analogous to the communities of life around hydrothermal vents.

Isn’t this strange. Everyday we find and classify new species on this earth that makes you wonder ” What else could there be out there? Something for the better of man-kind or for the worst?” One day I would like to travel around the world and come into contact with different animals because I love animals. I feel they are the most precious things on this earth. They cannot speak out language but they can learn from us, understand us, adapt to what society of the environment deals them, and in some ways they are more advanced than us. But at the same time, they know soo much about life on this eath that it’s incredible. The fact that some animals can form small but conductive societies that help one another, share, and care for one another is special. It’s something they were not taught by man but know how to do. It just makes you wonder “What else do they know?” Thats why I love animals. Their unique, original, and make you appreciate what you have on this earth, how great we have it on this earth. The ability to learn, create and foster up food for ourselves for our survival. Just another great creation from the man up stairs.

Another story i came across was an interesting one. The article is called ‘Living without a pulse” “Can you live without a pulse? Some people think we can, but now you can. The reason why we have a pulse is because it’s hard for evolution to result in turbines or continuously spinning things. The next generation of artificial hearts may have no pulse. They also have no bearings, so they should last much longer than previous attempts. In fact, engineers don’t give a predicted lifespan on these models. How would your life be different without a pulse?”

Have you ever wondered how different your life would be if you didnt have a pulse? In biological systems, there are often unusual dependencies occuring. I think I read somewhere that certain birds can’t swallow without gravity. And why not? It’s there! Make use of it! That’s the way evolution works. In humans, bone density is dependent on load, which is why our bones atrophe in weightlessness.

So, given that we HAVE a pulse, I would be surprised if some part of your body didn’t take advantage of it.

LIVE WITHOUT A PULSE? That’s crazy- crazy because a pulse is what is used to tell if u r breathing or not- if u don’t have a pulse that means u r unconscious or dead… I don’t want to try to live without a pulse.
Evolution is cool though- we have a few parts of our body that we do not really know what their purposes are- the appendix and the wisdom teeth… why do we need wisdom teeth- I personally think it was used way back in the day- more like prehistoric days. I don’t recommend taking them out because they were placed in our mouth for a reason.
And about the response u wrote to me- well these ppl say they want sex changes because they dont feel comfortable with their birth given gender- and living as their gender causes them extreme distress- and to add fuel to the fire they get ridiculed for wanting to change- that is a threat to health- emotional health?

I am not saying I agree with that- I definitely think they have identity issues and emotional issues that need to be addressed and a sex change is certainly not the answer.–>
